SIPware™ Broadband Telephony
The SIPware Broadband Telephony service is a turnkey, software-based solution designed for service providers deploying primary and secondary line voice services over broadband networks. Subscribers can make IP-originated calls to other IP phones or to the PSTN, and receive calls through a PSTN-provisioned phone number. Service providers can deploy the service using either prepaid or post paid billing mechanisms to flexibly match their market strategy and business model. The solution contains all of the elements necessary for service delivery including a feature server, NAT traversal server, RTP relay mechanism, and integration with a rich set of revenue-generating enhanced services. Key line side features supported include caller id, call waiting, call forwarding, anonymous call blocking, and voice mail. Subscribers can access and control any of these features through traditional DTMF interfaces or an easy-to-use, self-service Web portal. And behind the scenes, the SIPware Broadband Telephony solution allows service providers to meet stringent regulatory requirements with CALEA-compliant call intercept functions and 911 lifeline integration.

SIPware Broadband Telephony advantages include:

Delivers Key Line-side Calling Features — In order to provide the subscriber with a similar experience to legacy PSTN-based phone services, many key line-side features are supported in the product. These include caller id, call waiting, call forwarding, anonymous call blocking, and voice mail. These represent some of the highest use features available to the subscriber through "* codes" on PSTN phones.

Meets Key Regulatory Requirements — Allowing law enforcement agencies to "wiretap" voice calls will be just as important in broadband VoIP networks as it has been in legacy TDM networks. SIPware Broadband Telephony can be set-up by the service provider to stream a "listening call leg" on any n-way voice call/conference when required by local, state, and federal law enforcement.

100% Software Implementation — The breadth of functionality and flexibility inherent in the RapidFLEXT software platform architecture enables a rich set of features in the SIPwareT Broadband Telephony solution. This solution eliminates the need to deploy dedicated hardware such as border elements, DSP-based IP media servers, and additional computers for line-side call control softswitches. All of the software components run on Linux-based hardware, making it very cost-effective and straightforward to maintain. With the industry-leading RapidFLEX Service Creation Environment (SCE), both new service features and customizations can be quickly developed to meet specific market requirements.

Scalable Carrier-grade Solution for High-density Markets — Reaching the residential broadband subscriber means that the service provider needs scalability in their IP telephony service offering. The proven commercial scalability of the RapidFLEX components allows service providers to reach high-density consumer markets from the start. And scalability and reliability go hand-in-hand, so the SIPware Broadband Telephony solution provides high availability features that use sophisticated redundancy schemes to avoid single points of failure.
