RapidFLEX Session Border Control Server
The RapidFLEX Session Border Control Server software enables all SIP end point devices
to traverse firewalls using NATs, without compromising security or reliability. This Linux-based
software component is a key element of the SIPware Broadband Telephony Service, enabling service
providers to cost-effectively deploy Class 5 VoIP services without requiring dedicated, hardware-based,
"line side" session border controllers to be deployed in service provider networks.
The RapidFLEX Session Border Control Server is a highly integrated application.
It includes patent-pending kernel optimizations for media management, composed of
an outbound SIP Proxy Server, a SIP Registrar Server and a SIP B2BUA to manage
translation of SIP user agents' endpoints across firewalls. It also includes an
enhanced Media Relay feature that supports multiple network interfaces and multiple
codecs, including video and media forking to support CALEA. It is compliant with the
latest SIP specification, providing a highly scalable, highly available, load-balanced
solution in a fully distributed architecture.
