RapidFLEX Software
Architecture
The Pactolus RapidFLEX Software Architecture is an open,
extensible, Unix-based software platform for delivering
multiple SIP-based voice services on industry-standard
server hardware. Unlike traditional TDM-based service
platforms, RapidFLEX separates software and hardware
logic, enabling:
| |
Multiple
services to run side-by-side on the same platform |
| |
Linear
scaling to accommodate millions of subscribers |
| |
Modification
of services without impacting the underlying software
architecture |
| |
Location
transparency of the service platform in the carrier's
converged network |
| |
Easy
integration with legacy networks via trunking TDM/IP
media gateways |
|
|
Easy migration to the pure IP
service networks of tomorrow |
Key to the architecture's flexibility
is XTML (eXtensible Telephony Markup Language). Developed
by Pactolus, XTML is an XML-based service description
language specifically for telephony applications. It
is the first XML-based, open, extensible, unified framework
for creating and delivering enhanced communication services
over any next-generation network using any protocol
or API (SIP, MGCP, H.323, Parlay, etc). XTML unlocks
the power of Internet-style service creation tools for
next-generation service providers.
