Pactolus Intros Business Features for SIPware Broadband Telephony, Redefines Industry Scale, Customization and Service Economics

First Hosted PBX/IP Centrex Application With Carrier-Grade Call Capacity, Economical Customizations, Telco-style Pricing and CAPEX-light Deployment

SAN JOSE, CA - March 15, 2006 -

Pactolus Communications Software Corporation, developers of the most comprehensive IP voice service suite and service delivery environment for telecom service providers, today introduced SIPware& bVoBB™, a new set of business features for its commercially-proven SIPware Broadband Telephony (VoBB) application, enabling service providers to reach the SMB market with telco-grade scale and reliability. The new business feature set makes SIPware bVoBB the first solution that enables service providers to host a network-based solution providing compelling, differentiating services and features for both consumer and business subscribers in a single VoBB service framework, and provides exceptional economic, customization and performance advantages.

"Consumer VoBB is clearly the first major wave of Voice over IP adoptions, as LatiNode's phenomenal growth demonstrates here in the US and around the world, but the growth potential for enterprise VoBB is equally impressive," notes Jorge Granados, Founder and CEO of LatiNode, a trans-national service provider recently named #152 on INC. Magazine's list of America's 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies. "A successful carrier business model's really about two things – scale and fast feature development to dominate new markets, and Pactolus gives us that leverage. We can economically offer new services and features across our existing IP network, and their domain knowledge and support are a strategic asset in our continuing world-wide growth and momentum."

SIPware bVoBB features include DID inbound calling, automated attendant, extension dialing, on-net dialing across multi-site businesses, hunt group support, company and department directories; company, departmental and individual voice mail with reserved extensions, and web-based portal for site administration. It readily supports economical service feature development and integration via Pactolus' RapidFLEX Service Delivery Platform architecture and Service Creation Environment. It also incorporates:

  • Office Manager – a Web based, customer-configurable interface that simplifies ongoing customer management of features such as auto attendant;
  • Flexible telco-style session licensing that models "per port" telecom service pricing and procurement models, versus the rigid "per subscriber" pricing offered by first generation hosted PBX/IP Centrex VoBB applications. This eliminates the need for service providers to license based on the total subscriber population, whether or not they ever use the service;
  • Key features such as hunt groups and auto attendant are bundled to deliver a complete solution.

The SIPware Service Suite: Driving Service Provider Profitability
SIPware bVoBB is the newest addition to Pactolus' award-winning SIPware suite, a unique multi-service application framework now deployed in 50+ service provider networks. The SIPware suite gives service providers:

  • The broadest breadth of revenue-driving, market-proven Class 4 and Class 5 service applications;
  • Industry leading service creation and turnkey service customization;
  • Scale that provably beats the industry and readily accommodates the highest busy hour call volumes of leading VoBB service providers;
  • Easy new service additions, for cost effective deployment, adaptation and scale of high revenue applications without the addition of separate service networks and operations support; and
  • Brings proven scalability to reach millions of subscribers and billions of minutes of monthly voice traffic. SIPware is driving IP voice services in Tier 1, national-scale IP networks.

Pactolus Founder and CTO David Horton concluded: "Our mission is creating new carrier opportunity by providing the industry's best breadth of high-revenue services, and continually improving and re-defining its service deployment economics. With today's business VoBB feature introduction, we're enabling service providers to reach this emerging market with the features, scale and customization they need, and without the infrastructure overhead that would otherwise extend the ROI cycle."

Availability
Current Pactolus-based service providers can upgrade their SIPware Broadband Telephony deployments to add business features by licensing the SIPware bVoBB software module; the comprehensive SIPware bVoBB application will be generally available Q2:2006.
