XO Communications Selects Pactolus RapidFLEX Media Server

XO Extends Its Hosted Call Center Services With Pactolus RapidFLEX Media Server Using Its VXML Interface

SAN JOSE, CA - March 15, 2006 -

Pactolus Communications Software Corporation, developers of the most comprehensive IP voice service suite and service delivery environment for telecom service providers, today announced that XO Interactive, the hosted interactive voice response services subsidiary of XO Communications, has deployed the Pactolus RapidFLEX Media Server with VoiceXML (VXML) interface.

XO Interactive is recognized as an advanced, integrated voice recognition (IVR)-based customer support service provider which designs and hosts automated customer calling centers and customized user interfaces for some of the world's most recognized service providers and corporations. It provides unmatched levels of automated customer care by leveraging advanced technologies such as VoiceXML. Pactolus' RapidFLEX Media Server and VXML interface support the seamless integration of these advanced technologies and rich customer content, and help ensure service reliability on an ongoing basis and during peak periods of demand. XO Interactive had previously deployed the Pactolus SIPware Calling Card application, which it nationally deployed on behalf of a major telecommunications service provider who distributes the cards in retail outlets throughout North America.

"Our previous deployment of Pactolus services demonstrated both the reliability and flexible extensibility of Pactolus' solutions, and its commitment as a company to working closely with us," said Chris Brimhall, director of software engineering for XO Interactive. "Pactolus ensured our satisfaction and timely market entry with new services. Thus, RapidFLEX was the obvious and strategic choice for this business-critical service." XO Interactive bases a prepaid calling card service for a Tier 1 carrier on the Pactolus SIPware Calling Card application.

Pactolus' RapidFLEX Media Server is 100% software based, supports a comprehensive array of media processing functions, and features an industry-leading port capacity of 300+ port sessions per server running a VXML 2.0 interface. It runs on Linux and enables carriers to readily scale their capacity without expanding their hardware footprint or disrupting service.

Pactolus CEO Paul Blondin concludes: "XO is perhaps singularly recognized for its role in driving the maturity and richness of IP services, and XO Interactive embodies its growth beyond transmission to incorporate the full features, customized customer care and reliability that have sped the mass market adoption of IP-based interactive voice response services. We're of course delighted to further extend our relationship, and to be a component in the most advanced customer care hosted solution available."
