PACTOLUS INTRODUCES CARRIER-CLASS SIPWARET SERVICES FOR ENHANCED SERVICES OFFLOAD AND NEXT GENERATION NETWORKS

Prepaid Calling Card, Calling Card and Conference Calling Provide High Value Services in Converged Networks

Westborough, MA, September 11, 2001 -

Pactolus Communications Software, a leading provider of SIP-based services solutions for converged networks today introduced SIPware Services, an application suite consisting of SIPware Prepaid Calling Card, SIPware Calling Card, and SIPware Conference Calling.

For service providers with TDM enhanced services platforms already in place, the SIPware Services suite offers a way for them to cap their legacy platform investments and migrate to next generation network elements. Used in combination with media gateways, SIPware Services provides a cost-effective, "enhanced services offload" alternative to deploying expensive, single-application enhanced services platforms and dedicated TDM overlay network elements. For emerging service providers, SIPware Services can be used to quickly deploy proven, revenue-generating applications in next generation networks.

"The first phase of convergence for most service providers implementing next generation networks has been to lower their network operation costs by deploying cost-effective media gateways. Now we are entering the next phase of the market where revenue-generating services become the cornerstone for delivering profits going forward," said Christine Heckart, President of TeleChoice. "The SIPware Services suite from Pactolus promises to deliver a flexible, multi-services solution that can enable providers to take full advantage of their converged network infrastructure."

SIPware Services can be offered individually by services providers or as part of a powerful, bundled service offering. For example, SIPware Prepaid Calling Card can be marketed to consumers for long distance calling services while SIPware Calling Card and Conference Calling can be combined into a single subscriber account for business customers. Pactolus' RapidFLEX software platform components underlie SIPware Services. For the service provider, the multi-services design of the RapidFLEX products helps them achieve unprecedented cost savings by allowing them to efficiently share a pool of IP resources between applications. This approach significantly reduces the "cost per port" for the total solution as compared to traditional, purpose built, TDM enhanced services solutions.

SIPware Prepaid Calling Card is a fully integrated prepaid calling card application with the following key features - zero-touch provisioning for new subscribers, re-seller management and service branding, self-service portal for service customization and management, real-time call rating and credit card billing, and on-line credit-card recharge. SIPware Calling Card offers a postpaid billing interface with an extensive user interface similar to the prepaid application. SIPware Conference Calling is a meet me, conferencing application that offers the following key features - always on conferencing capabilities available through a Web or telephone interface that do not require an operator, moderator conference control through a sophisticated Web interface, and the elimination of expensive TDM conference bridge hardware.

Product Pricing and Availability
