Pactolus Introduces SIPkit Prepaid System, Redefines Market Entry Economics

New All-in-One System Offers Feature-Rich, Market-Proven Prepaid Services and Cost-effective Market Entry.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada and MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - September 12, 2006 -

Pactolus Communications Software Corporation, makers of the telecom industry's most broadly deployed and comprehensive VoIP applications portfolio, today introduced its new SIPkit™ Prepaid System that simplifies and sharply cost-reduces reseller deployment of the industry's most market-proven, feature rich SIP-based prepaid application.

The SIPkit Prepaid System is an ideal solution for the new channel of service integrator/resellers now emerging in the prepaid market: integrator/resellers are actively replacing expensive long distance call traffic currently purchased from legacy TDM facilities-based wholesalers with far more affordable SIP peering wholesale services, such as those now offered by IP-based carriers XO, InterRoute and Level 3. These wholesale services provide cost-effective international calling and core capabilities such as toll-free/local number access and PSTN-to-IP call internetworking, allowing Prepaid Service Providers (PSPs) to quickly, economically enter the market. PSPs can also connect directly to the PSTN using cost-effective PSTN-to-IP media gateways that connect to legacy TDM facilities in their network. SIPkit lets resellers and service providers easily and economically turn this raw capacity into services minutes and higher margin revenues.

The SIPkit Prepaid System is an all-in-one prepaid solution composed of five software components: the Pactolus Calling Card application, RapidFLEX Application Server Software, RapidFLEX Media Server, an integrated database and web server software, all of which are configured on a single industry-standard Linux server. SIPkit gives resellers the foundation to offer new value by sharply reducing service minute costs, and is an economical, comprehensive solution for rapidly deploying market proven prepaid services.

"SIPkit is the right product from the right company, targeting a growing customer base at the right time in the prepaid market," observed Jonathan Turner, Managing Director of Livewire International Ltd. "It will enable new service providers to roll out prepaid products in a cost-effective and timely manner. We have seen demand from our customers for a product like SIPkit for some time, and with regulators insisting on locally-housed equipment, now is the right time for its launch. Prepaid IP based services have quickly become the first steps towards deregulated markets across the Middle East and Africa, and we see great potential for this innovative and well-priced product."

Feature-rich SIPkit Prepaid is a full, turnkey prepaid solution that includes features such as:

  • zero-touch, Web-based subscriber creation and account management,
  • database PIN number creation and authentication,
  • a real-time rating engine, and self-contained billing and reporting,
  • reseller management and service branding capabilities, and
  • exceptionally broad and intelligent subscriber support, including 13 language prompt sets.

"Pactolus is the established leader in advanced, scalable IP voice services. With the introduction of SIPkit, we're substantially broadening our addressable market and enabling resellers and their service providers to deploy exceptional services with unprecedented economy," concluded Pactolus CEO Paul Blondin.
