Ausin, TX and Westborough, MA, March 10, 2004 -
Pactolus Communications Software Corporation, a leading provider of SIP-based voice services for next generation networks, announced today that its SIPwareT Prepaid Calling Card service and RapidFLEXT Application Server have been deployed in PointOne Telecommunications converged network. Utilizing SIP, the emerging standard for delivering IP voice services, Pactolus solutions allow telecommunications carriers and service providers to drive down the cost and accelerate time-to -market of network-wide services.
"We have spent the last couple of years building a true next generation converged communications network, that is the foundation for SIP applications and services" said Sam Shiffman, Vice President of Engineering at PointOne. "The Pactolus card services solution is a great example of how applications can be layered onto such a network, enabling a service across our entire network. This gives us the flexibility to deliver high-value services in a marketplace that is shifting quickly to embrace VoIP capabilities."
"PointOne has built a very advanced network based upon SIP call signaling," said Dave Horton, President and CTO of Pactolus. "They have also developing a re-seller business model that they are building on this network infrastructure. With our solution, they will be able to quickly manage and adapt their prepaid service to match their expanding network, and manage the re-sellers as individual business entities."
