PACTOLUS APPOINTS CEO AND ADDS VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES
Paul Blondin Named CEO; Michael Druar hired as Vice President of Sales
WESTFORD, Mass., June 18, 2001 -
Pactolus Communications Software, a leading provider of XML-based enhanced services solutions for SIP-enabled networks announced the appointment of two important senior management positions. Paul Blondin who has been Chairman of the Board at Pactolus since the company's founding in 1999 has taken on the operational role as CEO, making Blondin the Chairman and CEO at Pactolus. Dave Horton, founder of Pactolus, will become President and CTO. The company has also named Michael Druar as vice president of sales.
Paul Blondin brings extensive senior management and operational experience to Pactolus. Before joining Pactolus, Blondin was CEO of IPHighway, a software company in the Internet infrastructure market. Prior to IPHighway, Blondin was President and CEO of Netect, a network security software company, which was acquired by Bind View Development in March 1999. Previously Blondin served as Chairman of the Board of Open Development Corporation of Norwood, Massachusetts, a developer of enhanced services platforms, which was acquired by Glenayre Technologies in October 1997. Beginning in March 1993, Blondin was employed as Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer, of Cascade Communications Corp., a supplier of wide area data communications equipment, until Cascade was acquired by Ascend Communications in June 1997. Prior to joining Cascade, Blondin served as Vice President and Controller of Proteon Inc., a provider of LAN and internetworking products.
In addition to serving as a board advisor to a number technology companies, Blondin has been a member of the Board of Directors of MEI Software Inc., of Reston, VA, Bluestone Software, Inc. of Philadelphia, PA, WebFS, Inc. of Salem, MA, Logic Works of Princeton, NJ, Open Development, Inc. of Norwood, MA, Netect, Inc., of Framingham, MA, and IPHighway, Inc. of Westborough, MA. Blondin currently serves on the board of Verbind, Inc. of Lexington, MA. Blondin is a graduate of Boston College and Babson College.
Michael Druar, who brings extensive sales experience from many segments of the telecommunications industry, will be responsible for heading up the company's sales organization. Druar's most recent experience was at Ellacoya Networks, Inc. where he was vice president of sales for the Eastern U.S. At Ellacoya, Druar was responsible for penetrating some high profile, carrier accounts and building a sales and sales engineering organization. Over his career, Druar has consistently demonstrated an ability to successfully sell to large ILECs, IXCs, Cable MSOs, and CLECs. Before Ellacoya, Druar was vice president of North American sales and business development for Artel Video Systems where he closed many large carrier contracts including NYNEX, Bell Atlantic, SBC, PacBell, Ameritech, and GTE. Before joining Artel Video Systems, Druar held several key sales and marketing positions at ADC Telecommunications, Inc. over 15 years, including regional sales director for the northeast in his last three years at ADC. Druar holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.
