TELICA AND PACTOLUS COMPLETE SIP INTEROPERABILITY TESTING OF PACTOLUS' SIPWARE SERVICES SUITE
Complements Telica's Class 4 Switching Capabilities with Carrier-ready Prepaid Calling Card, Calling Card, and Conference Calling
Marlboro, MA and Westborough, MA, April 8, 2002 -
Telica, Inc., a leading provider of softswitch-based voice and data switching products, and Pactolus Communications Software Corporation, a leading provider of SIP-based services solutions for converged networks, today announce that the two companies have successfully completed Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) interoperability testing. The successful completion of this testing makes Pactolus a Certified Partner in Telica's Total Solution Alliance Program. Extensive testing involved exercising Pactolus' SIPwareT Services suite that includes prepaid calling card, calling card, and conference calling with Telica's PlexusT 9000 voice packet switch. In combination, Telica's Class 4 switching capabilities and Pactolus' carrier-ready, "trunk-side" services gives service providers a compelling, cost-effective alternative to using expensive, dedicated TDM switching fabric and service nodes.
"Telica's Plexus 9000 has had some significant customer wins that will help to accelerate the adoption of packet telephony technology in traditional carrier networks," said Paul Blondin, chairman and CEO of Pactolus. "Our customer experiences have shown that traditional service providers are implementing SIP-based services, and that they demand the scalability, network connectivity, and flexibility that the Plexus 9000 can deliver."
"We are pleased that Pactolus has successfully completed interoperability testing and joined our Alliance Program as a Certified Partner," said John St. Amand, CEO and president of Telica. "Pactolus' feature rich SIPwareT Services suite teamed with the Plexus 9000's flexibility, extremely high density and availability, allows us to offer service providers proven, revenue-generating enhanced services based upon a much more compelling network infrastructure cost structure."
