PACTOLUS' SIPWARE CONFERENCE CALLING SOLUTION ACHIEVES "POWERED" STATUS IN SONUS NETWORKS' OPEN SERVICE PARTNER ALLIANCE
SIPware Conference Calling Becomes Fourth Pactolus Product to Attain "Powered" Status in Sonus Networks' Interoperability Testing Program
Westborough, MA, January 28, 2002 -
Pactolus Communications Software, a leading provider of SIP-based services solutions for converged networks announced today that its SIPwareT Conference Calling product has achieved the "Powered" designation in Sonus Networks' (Nasdaq: SONS) Open Services Partner Alliance SM (OSPA). The pure-IP, carrier-grade audio conferencing solution tested at Sonus' OSPA lab facility included the Pactolus SIPware Conference Calling application running on the RapidFLEX Application Server, and the Convedia CMS-6000 Media Server. For service providers with TDM conferencing services already in place, the SIPware Conference Calling solution offers a way for them to cap their legacy TDM platform investments and migrate to cost-effective, next generation network elements.
"We are pleased that Pactolus has successfully completed interoperability testing of its SIPware conferencing platform, and now offers carriers four applications that bear the "Powered" insignia," said Terri Griffin, vice president, marketing, Sonus Networks. "Along with current prepaid and post paid card services offered by Pactolus, our customers are now able to deploy a comprehensive suite of "trunk side" services on one service platform in conjunction with our GSX9000T Open Services Switch."
"As a result of our joint product efforts with Sonus Networks and Convedia, our customers can immediately take full advantage of a pure-IP services architecture that is future-proof, while deploying proven revenue-generating services into their existing TDM networks," said Paul Blondin, chairman and CEO, Pactolus. "This partnership is another proof point that when multiple vendors independently adhere to an open pure-IP services approach, it can be cost-effective, reliable, and scalable."
"This conference calling solution will enable service providers to pick best-of-breed components for media gateway/softswitch, media server, application server, and services," said Peter Briscoe, president and CEO, Convedia. "We are pleased how easily all of these pieces came together to create a robust conferencing solution."
